STREET STYLE - HOT PANTS

These kind of hot pants should come with a warning: if you’re already ridiculously hot, they’ll only make you hotter.

This incandescent level of hot pant hotness was perfectly captured by Mr Newton after the Balmain show at Paris fashion week. I think the best thing about the outfit is actually the rolled-up sleeves on the plain white tee, which, against the black leather, gives the whole thing a masculine Greaser boy feel. via Fashionising

MALABABA - SPANISH LEATHER GOODS

Spanish leather goods and women's accessories firm Malababa started in 1997 when pharmacy graduate Ana Carrasco realized she was more drawn to fashion than apothecary. She created a solid following in Madrid, then in the rest of Spain, and moved on to other markets in 2003. Malababa is now sold in more than 300 stores in Mexico, Argentina, USA, Japan, Kuwait, China and several European countries.

In Malababa pieces, there is a sense of traditional Spanish craftsmanship and handiwork. The use of natural-tone leathers and metal accents with timeless patina create a feel of value, elegance and timelessness. Purses, bags, wallets and shoes form the core of each collection, with cuffs, belts and other accessories completing the line. via TCH

T and F SLACK - SHOEMAKERS - LONDON

Tim and Fiona Slack (T&F Slack) are married to each other and to their love of creating shoes, considered “modern classics” by industry standards. Their collection gives the classic “Gibson” or “Derby” shoe shape new life when unexpected colour combinations, stitching details and fabrications are blended together.

You can choose from the perforated Punch Derby in white leather with yellow peaking beneath, or have a custom made pair to order in their Notting Hill Shop or use the simple “build your own shoe” system they’ve created within Selfridges and Liberty.  Dedicated to keeping manufacturing local, they make around 150 shoes per month in their factory where old-fashioned machinery is salvaged and customised to create their “modern classic” shoes. With so much repetition in the world of shoes, it’s so refreshing to see a unique and bespoke solution that really does draw the eye downwards!

KARL LAGERFELD LAUNCHES HIS NEW LABEL

If you think Karl Lagerfeld has his fingers in too many pies, think again. Nothing is too much for this creative genius who has been heading Chanel for the last three decades. Lagerfeld is soon launching a fashion brand under his own name, Karl, as an online-only retail brand. Lagerfeld has already roped in private equity firm Apax to provide financial support.
Initially, products under Karl will sold through Net-a-Porter for the first month. Thereafter, it will be offered to online consumers via a dedicated website that should start operations in spring next year. Karl will feature “rock chic” designs that cost between 60 and 300 euros.
Lagerfeld’s arrival on the online scene is another indication that the luxury fashion community is finally embracing the online medium. In the past, luxury brands like Louis Vuitton had expressed their unwillingness to move online because a website could not provide the same hands-on service as a physical store. However, customers do not seem to be unhappy with ecommerce. Bain & Co. reported last week that online luxury sales are slated to increase by 25 percent in 2011.
Even as the launch of Karl gets underway, Lagerfeld is also working on a more upmarket label – Karl Lagerfeld Paris. This label is scheduled to launch in autumn next year and will be available through multi-brand and department stores. The price points will vary between 300 and 2,000 euros. Apax has a majority stake in the entire venture, which goes by the name of Karl Lagerfeld BV. Pier Paolo Righi, the chief executive of Karl Lagerfeld BV, admitted that the firm expects to multiply its sales by four or five times within the next half decade.

TARGET COLLABORATES with GWEN STEFANI for KIDS CLOTHING

Childrenwear has somehow never got the attention it deserves from fashion designers. Perhaps that’s why Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Mini kids clothing line being released in collaboration with target had the Hollywood’s hottest moms lined up on the occasion of the launch. Target’s recent collaboration with Missoni was a grand success and if the launch event was anything to go by, the kids collection seems destined for a greater success. The kids with their stylish A-lister parents will simply love it. The collection, however is not targeted only at the elite as the price range is more than reasonable at $3.99 to $29.99 only.
The collection is full of fun items with ballerina-style tutus, polka dots and fuzzy hoodies with animal ears. The slogans like ‘Hazard’, ‘Love Makes Me Cute’ and ‘I Am A Monster’ adds to the fun. There is a punk style aesthetic to the collection but the motifs have strong Japanese influence. The collection is definitely different from what you normally get in the name of childwear. Ms Stefani was very happy with the experience as Target had given her complete creative freedom. She said that she had always wanted to do a playful fashion line for the kids and the Harajuku Mini was a dream come true for her.
Gwen was a singer/songwriter when she turned to fashion in 2004 and soon became Hollywood’s most influential style icons. She launched L.A.M.B. (Love Angel Music Baby) in 2004 which is the favorite label of celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Teri Hatcher. At the launch event the guests were greeted with towers of balloons at the Jim Henson studios. Child models including Gwen’s sons Zuma and Kingston walked the catwalk to show off the collection while a DJ provided suitable music. If you have kids in the age group of one to 13 years, you must check the collection out.

MIRANDA KERR WEARS $ 2.5 MILLION VICTORIA SECRET BRA

Victoria’s Secret. the world’s most famous brand of lingerie and sleepwear, organized the Victoria’s secret fashion show recently. The motto of the show is to market and promote its products in high-profile attractive settings, featuring fashion models of the globe. The highly hyped 2011 fashion show this year has featured Miranda Kerr wearing $ 2.5 million worth diamond studded Victoria secret bra decorated with pearls and diamonds accentuating her great figure. Australian twenty eight year old beauty had missed last year’s show just because of her pregnancy. This is really miraculous comeback to the catwalk in good shape after giving birth; she’s still so hot in this sexiest show, dazzling the audience at 16th annual show at the Lexington Armoury in New York. Anybody can guess her secret in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show?
The sexy enchanting designs of the costumes with the decoration of Swarovski crystals were matching very well with the wings. Miranda went on waving the audience with angel like grace having sparkling wings in her peacock outfit. Miranda exhibited two more outfits. She told that it was an honor to wear such a stunning art piece which made her feel like a mermaid and she would not believe that she was wearing $2.5 million on her chest.

Alessandra Ambrosio stole the focus of public attention wearing copper wings plated in 23 carat gold designed by Jenny Manik Mercian in Sydney. The heaviest wing of thirty pounds which is encrusted with Swarovski crystals was designed in a duration of seven years but lasted for just thirty seconds on the catwalk.

Adam Levine 32 looked happy with his model girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna who walked down the catwalk in the show. Fabulously looking Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima looked sensational with blue set last night in New York.

THE OFFICIAL LOOKBOOK OF VERSACE FOR H&M IS OUT

Sometimes, all you need to spruce up a wardrobe and brighten up your day is a bunch of clothes in pop colors. H&M has tied up with no less designer than Versace to create a line of eye-popping designs. The collection reaches stores only on 17 November, but the official lookbook is already out. These head-turning designer clothes are sure to leave fashion-conscious men and women drooling.

The new tie-up between H&M and Versace is named “Versace for H&M”. The new collection, which features fashion lines for both men and women, is marked by fun and the use of a range of young, bright colors. If you are planning to make a splash at the next brunch or steal the show at the next party, the Versace for H&M line, with its young, quirky designs could be just the thing.

The first campaign visuals simply pop with color. The featured models are flavors of the day Daphne Groeneveld and Lindsey Wixson. Photographer duo Mert & Marcus captured the models in a variety of Versace for H&M clothes and accessories. The line is inspired by the greatest hits ever. Leather, print and color are used extensively in this cool collaborative collection whose prices start from $19.99 (for jewelry, of course) and go up to $299.

Of course, this is not H&M’s maiden tryst with collaboration either. In the past, the fast-fashion retailer has tied up with several other big names in the fashion industry. Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Lanvin and Jimmy Choo are among the most iconic designers to have worked with the retail brand. A second collaborative collection with Versace is set for a January 2012 release.
