TARGET COLLABORATES with GWEN STEFANI for KIDS CLOTHING

Childrenwear has somehow never got the attention it deserves from fashion designers. Perhaps that’s why Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Mini kids clothing line being released in collaboration with target had the Hollywood’s hottest moms lined up on the occasion of the launch. Target’s recent collaboration with Missoni was a grand success and if the launch event was anything to go by, the kids collection seems destined for a greater success. The kids with their stylish A-lister parents will simply love it. The collection, however is not targeted only at the elite as the price range is more than reasonable at $3.99 to $29.99 only.
The collection is full of fun items with ballerina-style tutus, polka dots and fuzzy hoodies with animal ears. The slogans like ‘Hazard’, ‘Love Makes Me Cute’ and ‘I Am A Monster’ adds to the fun. There is a punk style aesthetic to the collection but the motifs have strong Japanese influence. The collection is definitely different from what you normally get in the name of childwear. Ms Stefani was very happy with the experience as Target had given her complete creative freedom. She said that she had always wanted to do a playful fashion line for the kids and the Harajuku Mini was a dream come true for her.
Gwen was a singer/songwriter when she turned to fashion in 2004 and soon became Hollywood’s most influential style icons. She launched L.A.M.B. (Love Angel Music Baby) in 2004 which is the favorite label of celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Teri Hatcher. At the launch event the guests were greeted with towers of balloons at the Jim Henson studios. Child models including Gwen’s sons Zuma and Kingston walked the catwalk to show off the collection while a DJ provided suitable music. If you have kids in the age group of one to 13 years, you must check the collection out.
